Castor Oil
Other Names: Ricinus oil Remarks: Pale, yellowish color, transparent, mild odor, nauseating taste; solidifies at -10ºC / 14ºF; soluble in alcohol, ether, benzene, chloroform and carbon disulfide. Used in protective coatings, plastics, lubricants, fatty acids, textiles, rubber, hydraulic fluids, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, flavoring, and insulating compounds. Pump Notes: Cast iron construction is usually satisfactory but may vary depending on end use of product. Buna n elastomers are satisfactory. Mechanical shaft seal is recommended. |
