Emulsified Asphalt
A suspension or emulsion of asphalt in water. Viscosity: Usually relatively thin; almost water-like Remarks: Can often be used without being heated. Asphalt emulsions can be applied in the same manner as asphalts; after the water has evaporated, the asphalt hardens into a continuous film. Used for coating roadways, cement waterproofing and roofing compounds. Pump Notes: Cast iron construction is satisfactory. Packing is the normal shaft seal.
